Old binary release
There has been a working, compiled universal binary for Macintosh OSX 10.4. However, this is an outdated version, and development has ceased since the release.
Old Release: 0.7gU with 0.78eU patch --Elio 03:40, 27 Feb 2007 (W. Europe Standard Time)
New source development
With the new year 2008, development has been resumed. Currently, the SVN version of Spring can be compiled and played on a Mac, provided you have some background knowledge. Some features are missing though.
A nice, easy to use binary release is being worked on.
os x LAN & Singleplayer
get: http://fabian.herb-clan.de/Spring-0.76b1+5552.dmg (check this thread: http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8819 ) as no lobby is working yet on os x start lan games with: ./Spring -s -n bar ./Spring -c -n foo in <path-to-Spring>/Spring.app/Contents/MacOS
(tested on leopard)
Notes
Network sync presently restricts play to between computers of the same architecture type. Cross architecture network support is being worked on but will have to wait till there's hardware to work with.
Lobby informations for OSX are old & outdated, someone please update this page and the lobby link with fresh informations. <Brain Damage>
Due to the lack of information about a working lobby, the only sure way play between two computers must be initiated manually via start scripts and/or command line.
See the Lobby_on_MacOSX page for details and development progress
