0.73 and above
The skirmish AI you have downloaded will likely contain one file xxx.dll and possibly other files/folders. The dll and other files need to placed in the /AI/Bot-libs/ folder, within the main Spring folder. The AIs should then show up in TASclient / Spring Single Player (possibly after restarting the program or refreshing the AI list). You may find further installation instructions in the readme that comes with the AI.
0.72 and below
As with above, except the path to copy to has changed to aidll/globalai/ instead of /AI/Bot-libs/. Make sure to look at the readme file.
Some AI's come with installers that do all of this for you.
Remember:
You may also obtain AAI and KAIK via the spring installer
The AI dll/so and the spring executable must be compiled with the same compiler
The AI dll/so must match the AI interface version of the spring executable, eg. AIs compiled with source of earlier spring versions will not work with latest release version (and thus have to be recompiled to run with the latest spring version)
